  • 🪵 Toasted American Oak Barrel + Glass Heads: What It Means

  • Barrel Body: Traditional American white oak (Quercus alba) toasted not charred.
  • Barrel Heads: Transparent glass, sealed securely to the staves.
  • Purpose:  Toasting draws deeper sugars from the oak, lending wine sweetness, roundness, and roasted notes of coffee and caramel. Marry the flavor-enhancing properties of toasted oak with a see-through, modern design that showcases the aging process.

  • 🌟 Flavor from Toasted American Oak

  • Toasting the oak (instead of charring it) emphasizes subtler, sweeter, and spicier compounds.
  • Vanillin:  Soft vanilla notes.
  • Lactones:  Coconut, buttery flavors
  • Hemicellulose breakdown: Caramel, honey.
  • Lignin transformation: Toasted nuts, gentle spice.
  • Toasting enhances depth without overpowering smoke — ideal for:
  • Whiskeys that lean elegant over smoky.
  • Barrel-aged cocktails.
  • Aged whiskey, hot sauces, vinegars, or wines needing complexity without heavy tannins.
